Monitoring Team: 31/1/23 Blake, Peter, Natasha

Analysis & Report: David Bills-Thompson, PFCG Technical Officer and Data Co-ordinator

Commentary: Monitoring was carried out on 31st of January and then again the following week after a weekend of high winds.

Due to the way drone data is processed and a lack of automatic notification, mapping data for 8/02/2023 was released by Propeller Aero before data from 31/01/2023 was processed. As Propeller always displays the latest mapping date, data from 31/01/2023 mapping once processed was 'buried' in the past data and was left out of the last beach report.

It is included here with the data from 8/02/2023.

You will note the very short time interval between these two mapping runs but during this time some high winds were recorded and most of the posts (1 - 7) show sand loss.
Posts 8 and 10 show very little change and post 9 shows a positive sand accretion beyond ten metres from the post.

A copy of the wind detail provided by the B.O.M. web site for early February is also attached.

Individual profiles for each post are attached along with two charts from the Post & Date Profiler where the solid lines are the profile on 8/02/203 and the dotted lines in the same colour are profiles for the same post from the previous mapping on 31/01/2023.
