Community exhibition and survey report presented to Moyne Shire Council

The Port Fairy Coastal Group presented the results its Coastal Hazards Community Exhibition and Survey on Monday 13 April to the Moyne Shire Working Group. The report analyses the responses of 755 surveys collected by the PFCG over the summer.

The aim of the exhibition and survey was to discover how residents and visitors use the coast, how they value it and which areas they think should be protected. Then, for this information to be used to help guide local and state governments in tackling sea-level rise and erosion.

For a large sample size, there was a very consistent response and a clear message, everyone thinks there is an issue. The community says the most important issue is environmental integrity with environment and habitat and beach access/car parks considered the most important issues for spending.
