Beach Monitoring

Each month, with support from the Port Fairy Life Saving Club, three of our volunteers head out to measure the sand dunes against 12 fixed posts. Using a surveyors level, they measure sand height, dune toes and the beach profile. Regular monitoring commenced in early 2013.

Analysis of the data and the monthly comment is provided by David Bills-THompson, PFCG's Technical Officer and Data Co-ordinator.
